I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. We exercised our brains this summer with Creative Problem Solving from The Critical Thinking Co.™ !   We received the Level 1 book (for age 4 - 2nd grade) and Kory (4.75 years old) had fun working through these problem solving worksheets by thinking way outside the box! I received a physical copy of the Creative Problem Solving Level 1 workbook.   The pages are perforated if you wanted to remove them from the book. We worked through worksheets without removing them, and Kory wanted to continue on through the pages since she was having so much fun. Solving a problem on a planet with extreme weather!  Kory chose a rat to be the hardiest animal that could withstand extreme heat and cold.  She's not wrong, I guess! The problems in the begin...

ARTistic Pursuits Is The Perfect Art Curriculum!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. We have found our Art Study for the fall!!  We will be using an excellent book from  ARTistic Pursuits  called  The Way They SEE It, A Book for Every Parent About the Art Children Make .  I am so thankful we did this review! There are 26 Projects within the book.  There are also "Grown-Up Talk" pages that are for parents to also learn and understand about young children's art. List of materials needed for projects in the book. We had most of these items on hand. What I love most about this particular book, is that it makes art very simple for little kids and parents who (like me) aren't very versed in Art.  In the book, this is called "Picture Talk."  I have loved the idea of introducing Kory to art study, but felt like it was ...

Page-A-Day Math Is So Much More Than Math!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. Page-a-Day Math really is needed just a page a day!  Kory (4) enjoyed learning Math and so much more with these workbooks in the Pre-K Math Starter Kit .  It has been fun so far learning math facts so Kory can build a strong math foundation. We are starting our homeschool journey with beginning Kindergarten in the fall.  One of the features of curriculum/lessons that we will be doing is that it must be "open-and-go."  Maybe someday when I'm super confident in my teaching abilities, I won't have to have so much hand-holding ;)  For now, I need it all right there, ready to go. Inside the Pre-K Math Starter Kit (digital) we received: 1. Tracing Addition Equations That Add 1 To 0-10 Workbook 2. Tracing Addition Equations That Add 2 To 0-10 Workbook 3...

Reading Kingdom is Reading Fun!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. My daughter, Kory (4), really enjoyed her reading lessons with Reading Kingdom 's online program. To begin, your child will have to go through an assessment to see where they need to start in the program.  Kory was started on Level 1.  It can be a little difficult for the child to get through, but you can be there to encourage the child during the assessment.  After that assessment and the following lessons, the child shouldn't need much more assistance.  In fact, the program encourages you to let the child "fly" on their own and not provide too much guidance. At first, Kory had some trouble navigating the keyboard.  It was a bit frustrating for her at first since she was not familiar with a mouse and keyboard, but after the first few lessons she got t...

Learning to Read and Write with Reading Unlocked!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. My 4 year old is learning to read and write with Reading Unlocked ! We were provided with 12 months free access to Reading Unlocked to try in our homeschool routine.  It is an online program that can be used on an iPad, PC, or laptop.  We used our iPad. As you can see, the program is very simple and not cluttered with too much stimulation. The program begins each lesson with a letter, and then asks the student what sound it makes.  Next, the child will identify in a series of questions which picture starts with the letter sound of the day.  The program does say the word for the student.  Then there is a short drill of saying the letter and what sound it makes. Kory then drew the letter on her paper or dry erase board.  This is how this...

Preborn Prodigy Makes the Perfect Gift!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. We had a great opportunity to listen to all 3 CDs we received from Preborn Prodigy . 1. Prayers & Blessings for the Unborn Child 2. Prayers & Blessings Newborn to 99 3. Math Prodigy Prayers and Blessings for the Unborn Child is perfect for expecting Moms!  This is the perfect baby shower gift.  This can be listened to on a phone or stereo for Mom and baby to hear, or played through Belly Buds (or similar fetal audio system).  The pleasant female voice speaks truths and blessings set to music, reminding anyone who hears that they were fearfully and wonderfully made!  I am a advocate for having music played for baby in the womb, but I believe playing Prayers and Blessings for the Unborn Child would be a great gift for Mom to supplement baby's aud...

We're Ready for Easter with The Easter Storybook!

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. We were blessed to be able to review The Easter Storybook by  David C Cook ! The Easter Storybook is a wonderful addition to any homeschool Bible study, family devotional time, or morning basket.  Of course, it would be best used in the 40 days leading up to Easter, but I believe it would be a good resource any time of year! I read this book with my 4 year old PreK daughter, Kory.  First, the introduction from the Author was heart-warming and provided me with a little devotional even to myself before I read this book with my child.  Laura Richie, the author, refers to Jesus as a "Rescuer" in the introduction and throughout the book.  That always keeps Jesus in perspective.  He is a Rescuer; we can't do life on our own. Each story is told i...
