We were blessed to be able to review The Easter Storybook by David C Cook!

The Easter Storybook is a wonderful addition to any homeschool Bible study, family devotional time, or morning basket.  Of course, it would be best used in the 40 days leading up to Easter, but I believe it would be a good resource any time of year!

I read this book with my 4 year old PreK daughter, Kory.  First, the introduction from the Author was heart-warming and provided me with a little devotional even to myself before I read this book with my child.  Laura Richie, the author, refers to Jesus as a "Rescuer" in the introduction and throughout the book.  That always keeps Jesus in perspective.  He is a Rescuer; we can't do life on our own.

Each story is told in a way that is easy for a child to understand.  It has been wonderful to learn along with Kory.  She loved the stories we read, even requesting to read about Zacchaeus, since "Zacchaeus (Was A Wee Little Man)" is one of her favorite songs right now.

The illustrations in this book are absolutely beautiful.  Each story takes about 2 minutes to read, so it's perfect for little attention spans.  At the end of the story, there is a question or two for discussion.  It serves as a conversation starter and a way to talk about the story, it's characters, and bring in life application as well.

Beautiful illustrations!  It was hard to choose a favorite to photograph.

One page stories with a question for discussion at the end.

I know this book is written for children, but even any adult can be blessed by reading all these wonderful stories all over again, or for the first time.  The book follows Jesus throughout his life, not just his death and resurrection, making this more than just an Easter study if used in other times of the year.  I'm looking forward to continuing on through this book through Easter and even bringing it out again for our Bible time in years to come with Kory and Little Sister.
